Manga Sonix collects as little as it can get away with. This page says exactly what that is, in plain terms, and what you can ask us to delete.

Who we are

Manga Sonix ("we", "the service") is operated by The MangaSonix Team, based in India. For anything in this policy, write to support@mangasonix.com.

What we collect

When you sign in

We use Google Sign-In. From it we store your Google account ID and email address. We do not store your Google password — we never see it.

If you enable notifications

We store a push notification token for your device, so we can tell you when a chapter has finished processing. Turn notifications off and the token stops being used.

When you narrate a page

We store, on our servers:

  • The source URL you entered, the page number and the language you chose.
  • The text extracted from that page and the narration audio generated from it, cached so the same page does not have to be processed twice.
  • In a separate audit record: the URL, the rights declaration you selected, your user ID, your IP address and a timestamp. We keep this because we process material on your instruction and have to be able to show, if a rights holder asks, who asked for what and on what basis.

What stays on your device

Your reading history — the "pick up again" list — is stored only in your app's local storage. It is never uploaded to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

What we never collect

  • Your microphone. The app does not record audio and does not request that permission.
  • Your photos, camera, contacts, or precise location.
  • Payment card details.

Why we collect it

  • Account ID and email — to recognise you across sessions and devices.
  • Cached pages and audio — so re-reading costs neither you a wait nor us a second round of processing.
  • Audit records — to respond properly to copyright notices, and to enforce the repeat-infringer rule in our Copyright Policy.
  • Server logs — to keep the service running and to detect abuse.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Who processes it for us

To do what the app does, page images and extracted text are sent to third-party AI providers. They process it on our instruction:

  • OpenRouter — receives the page image to read the text off it.
  • DeepInfra — receives the extracted text to translate it and to generate the narration audio.
  • Supabase — hosts our database.
  • Google — sign-in, and push notification delivery.

We share the minimum each one needs. OpenRouter and DeepInfra never receive your email address or account ID — they are sent only the page image or the text to be spoken.

Where your data is held

We are operated from India, but the service runs across three countries, so your data is transferred internationally:

  • United Kingdom — this website.
  • India — the servers that process pages, and where the generated narration audio and the audit records are stored.
  • Australia — the database, which holds your account record and the page cache.

If you are in the UK, the EU or another region with data-transfer rules, this means your data leaves it. By using the service you accept that transfer. You can have the data deleted at any time — see below.

How long we keep it

  • Account record — until you ask us to delete it.
  • Cached pages and audio — until the cache is cleared, or the source is the subject of a copyright notice, whichever comes first.
  • Audit records — kept as long as we may need them to answer a copyright claim.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete your account and everything tied to it. We will keep only what we are required to retain to answer an existing copyright claim, and we will tell you if that applies.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, in the app or on mangasonix.com/app: sign in, tap your initial in the top corner, then Delete account and confirm. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

  • Deleted: your sign-in, your profile (email, plan, subscription reference, notification token) and your page usage.
  • Cancelled first: any active subscription, so you are not charged again. If it cannot be cancelled, nothing is deleted and you are asked to try again.
  • Kept: narration of chapters, which is shared between readers and not tied to you; the record that you confirmed your rights to a chapter, which we must keep to answer a copyright claim; and the payment record our payment provider is legally required to hold.

We do not send an email when an account is deleted. The app confirms it on screen.

For anything else above, email support@mangasonix.com from the address you signed in with. We aim to answer within 30 days.

Children

Manga Sonix is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Security

Traffic to our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to the database and to audit records is limited to the operator. No service can promise perfect security, and we do not.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what we collect, we will say so in the app.
