About Manga Sonix

Last updated 17 September 2026

Manga Sonix reads comics aloud. You bring the page; it does the voices.

What it does

Point it at a comic page you have the rights to and it finds the panels, reads the text off the artwork, works out who is speaking and how they feel, and narrates it in a voice that acts the line rather than flatly reading it.

  • Panel detection. Manga pages are cut along their gutters and read in the right order. Webtoon and manhwa strips are read whole, as they were drawn.
  • A voice per character. Once a character is recognised they keep the same voice for the chapter, so a conversation sounds like two people.
  • Emotion in the delivery. Angry lines are angry, nervous lines waver, a shout is a shout.
  • Translation into the language you read in.

Who it is for

People who find reading comics hard — low vision, dyslexia — and people who would rather listen while their hands are busy. It began as a tool for one of those and turned out to be useful to both.

What it is not

Manga Sonix is not a publisher, a library, a store or a catalogue. It ships with no content. There is no browse list, no recommendations, and no source filled in for you. It is a reader for material you bring, the way a music player is for files you own.

You choose the source and confirm your basis for using it, and we keep a record of that. Rights holders can reach us through our Copyright Policy, and we act on notices.

Who runs it

Manga Sonix is built and operated by The MangaSonix Team in India. It is a small independent project, not a company with a support department — which is why support@mangasonix.com reaches someone who can actually change the code.
